Wheel bearing socket 508d
Does anyone know the socket size or can give a link for purchase of the socket for The wheel bearing locking nut for my 508d, I know it can be done with a hammer and screwdriver but I would prefer the correct tool.

Re: Wheel bearing socket 508d
I no longer have a "Düsseldorfer" (generic name for the range 406 - 613), so I cannot measure the right size for you. But I remember very well that even a small hammer and a narrow chisel easily do the job. That is: once you have flattened the locking plate. If you forget to flatten the plate first, you'll ruin the nut, but after you have flattened it, the nut comes off almost without any force.
The nut is so shallow it is hard to put a socket on it.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Re: Wheel bearing socket 508d
Lol Gerard, many words I write get lost in translation sometimes I read back that what I have written and think WTF like insert which appeared as utility, a picture would make it easier I think, I want one of these for a 508d bearing lock nut in the right size.

Ah, this one :-).
Indeed screw driver and hammer in delicate hands will do the job.
Good luck,
Gerard
