I will soon be changing the fuel filter on my Mercedes 508 om314 engine ,is there a hand operated air bleed pump somewhere in the fuel system

The red knob on top of the fuel pump is a bleeding pump. Turn it counter clockwise a few revolutions then pull it out. Open the bleeding screw (next to the pump) and start pumping until fuel drops from the blessing screw.

Close everything up and try and start the engine.
