Front bump stop 508d

Does anyone know what the clearance should ideally be below the front rubber bump stop on a 508d if the leaf springs and struts are good?

According to the dutch APK ore english MOT .there is no clearance allowed ..

Guess we talk about the short (NATO) ambulance version ?

Couldn't find it in any docs so far; why do you want to know ?

In any case, I can measure it on my own bus in the next few days, assuming the struts etc. are ok.

Thanks Gerard I would appreciate that if you could measure yours, I have the same bus as yours ex NATO Ambulance but 1986 with only six thousand Km on the clock, I had the tracking and toe in checked last week and the guy thought there was not enough clearance below the bump stop, the shock absorbers and leaf springs look good to me.
On left hand lock I get a quiet heavy clunky bonk from underneath the drivers side I can't work out what the the problem is, it only happens on rough bumpy tracks not on the roadway.

Little confused about the answer from the traveller above, we don't talk about ball joints here; but really the rubber stops (size of a small pint), correct ?

Yes correct Gerard the small pint rubber stops, the clunk bonk thing another issue could be ball joints but with only six thousand Km on the clock? I will check them again in the morning.

I measured the gap; it is 25mm on both sides.
